The out-of-court settlement of disputes is becoming increasingly important. Parties to conflicts recognize that it is in their best interests to reach agreement themselves with the help of an unbiased third party. This is leading gradually away from a society currently characterized by a culture of conflict to one in which arriving at a settlement that takes into consideration and respects the different interests is worth more than a disputable verdict.
